This has happened to me too. If you take their user name (the part before the @) and copy it, you might be lucky and they could have a profile somewhere. Let's say it's johndoedoe@hotmail.com , go to http://www.myspace.com/johndoedoe. You can also search for the user name on google and they might use it in completely different sites that you could get the profile from. Otherwise, if it is just a fake name, a profile wouldn't help so try searching for "email tracing" on google (or here on Y! Answers) and you could see where it comes from and if that helps. Otherwise if it is very bothersome you can go into your hotmail settings and block the address so you won't hear from it again.

But you can BLOCK the e-mail from the person!!! Do that -- BLOCK them !!!
