You don't really, unless you have a means of asking them (i.e. via an IM program). Otherwise, unless you happen to receive an email from this person and it's hotmail, there's no way of knowing.
How do I find out if someone has a hotmail.account?
go to hotmail and go to the search box and type there first and last name it gives u the direct info or few choices. There are sooo many choices
